How do the zoom Group sessions work?
Join Amy and a welcoming group of students for 4 live mat Pilates classes via zoom. It’s a fun way to get the body moving from the comfort of your own home! Classes are 45 minutes in duration and are suitable to all ages, and all levels of fitness. You can book into a class by clicking here. Amy has programmed the zoom classes to give your body a well rounded workout over the week. The four class types out outlined below.
1. Functional Movement & Strength Class: A class focused on breath, control and precision. Your weekly reset and reminder to activate the correct muscles, find your centre and connect the small dots of the body. A weekly awareness awakening! Core & Glute Focus.
2. Pilates Circuit Class: A class that builds on the skills and movement patterns in our functional strength session. This class is designed to raise your heart rate, challenge the body through load and repetition and build strength.
3. Flow & Connect Class: This is like your traditional mat Pilates class. We will flow and move non-stop for 45 minutes playing with transitions, classical mat work exercises and Pilates props to mix things up. Find your flow and move with ease and efficiency.
4. Stretch, Mobility & Release: The absolute crowd pleaser class. Every Friday eve take the time to unwind and unravel the body. Throughout the week we hold on to so much tension in the body. The hips grip, the shoulders live by our ears and our hamstrings are super tight! This is the class your body will absolutely thank you.
How do I book into classes?
Classes can be booked using my scheduling App. Once you have booked into your class you will receive the unique zoom link to the class a few hours before. If you do not receive the link please check your Junk mail. Sign into the class and enter the password 5 minutes before the class begins. The cost of the zoom classes are $30 for unlimited classes or $10 for a drop in. Recordings for each class are available upon request. It's been a while since I've exercised, is Pilates safe?
The beauty of private sessions is that we can go at a pace that you are comfortable with. I can also work closely with your health practitioner if you have any existing injuries or health conditions. You will be amazed at how quickly you will pick it all up, and how quickly you will feel the benefits!
Can I do Pilates casually on a drop in basis?
I always say that one session a week is better than zero sessions. Ideally, I would love to see my students try to get two Pilates classes or sessions a week to really reap the benefits of the strengthening method. My private students have also recently benefited from joining my online zoom classes. This is a cost effect and convenient way to get your Pilates in!
Where did you do your teacher training?
I did my comprehensive Pilates instructor teacher training with the MPower Pilates. This course is in partnership with one of the most respected and forward thinking Pilates Studios in the USA : Pilates Chicago. This training was a small group and intimate mentorship. It was an individualized apprenticeship, rather than a “cookie-cutter” educational process. I was able to get up close and personal during my observation hours and really became part of the family at the studio. I have an incredible mentor and friend in Michelle, and look forward to working besides her for many years to come.
Since then I have continued to progress my learnings with many short course and continued education programs over the years.
